As well known, according to the international manufacturing classification, there exists three main categories of auto spare parts.
- OE (Original Equipment) – Genuine spare parts used for assembly line on the factory.
- OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) – Spare parts produced by third party factories following standards and specifications of automakers. Those spare parts have the same quality as OE spare parts, can be used for assembly line on the factory and for after sales (warranty) services.
Depending on the agreement with automakers, OEM spare parts can be produced under the automaker brand or by their own**.
- Analogue – spare parts produced by third party under their own brands. Can have high or low quality. *
In recent times, a simple scheme such as – OE brands have OE package, analogue brands have analogue package is becoming more complicated, and the reasons is:
A. Unification process – one automaker (Toyota, as an example) has decided to purchase a spare part from a third-party factory which have different brand name (Hino for example, which specializes in trucks and buses) or even from their competitor (Nissan). The spare parts are genuine, the catalogue part number corresponds to the brand (Toyota), but the package might have another brand name (Nissan), which differs from the brand in the order.
We can always offer you such a “replacement by brand”, but if such an item crosses any border, the customs might have questions. So, the documents will contain the brand name that corresponds to the brand on the package.
B. Most of the car brands/manufactures are combining and merging into multinational giants in order to optimize the costs of production, service, and marketing into different countries and markets. As the result maximizing their profit and increasing their market share.
In those collaboration of different brands, special departments are formed, who are responsible for production of spare parts for the assembly line and for the aftermarket sales/services for all or a specific group of brands under these collaborations.
Such spare parts are considered to by original/genuine under international classification as OE/EOM.
As an example of such collaboration:
- Stellantis- unites brands such as: Chrysler, Jeep, Ram, Dodge, Opel, Italian Maserati, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, French Peugeot, Citroen and etc.
they use their subsidiary department MOPAR (motor parts) to produce original spare parts, oil and accessories.
- GM unites brands Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac and Buick. Their original/genuine spare parts are produced by/under the ACDelco name.
- Hyundai unites brands: Hyundai, Kia, Genesis, spare parts are produced by/under the Mobis name.
- Ford unites brands: Ford, Lincoln, spare parts are produced by/under the Motorcraft name.
Day by day we observe a decrease in the number of spare parts with its own brand name packaging from our official suppliers.
More and more spare parts are coming in the packages under the specialized manufacturing brands, such as Mopar, Mobis, Motorcraft and others.
In some cases, we find the old brand names mentioned on those new packages, but mostly not.
Since we cannot predict in which package will we receive your ordered spare part-
we have decided to give our pricelists broader scope names. The new name of Chrysler pricelist will be Chrysler/Mopar,
GM pricelist will carry a GM/AC Delco name, and so on.
We hope such approach will help:
Coordinate potential replacements with your end clients before placing an order, and avoid conflicts after receiving such spare parts.
As we’ve mentioned in part A- avoid unnecessary questions from any customs in case such item will cross the UAE border.

*-There exists one more type of spare part in the market – counterfeit. We didn’t add it to this memo, as we do not consider them as a part of our business. We choose our suppliers very carefully and responsibly. In case if there is any suspicion on counterfeit spare part, we immediately stop any cooperation with a company that supplied us such a product.
**- In this case – the spare part inside its branded package is considered an analogue, even though a good quality. We offer such spare parts in our price-lists, you can also find the on our website under their own part number or through cross-number of OE.
